How long does it take?
There is no exact timeline that describes how long it take for a patient to obtain a card. The patient must have a written recommendation from a board-licensed and practicing neurologist. He must register himself with the State Department of Health and Senior Services. The patient can obtain his card after requirements are met and processed.
How do I qualify?
- Must be at least 18 years of age or permission from guardians
- Must have intractable epilepsy
- Must obtain a written recommendation for DHSS from a licensed neurologist
- Once given recommendation, the patient must register with the Department of Health and Senior Services
